If you're a meat eater, it'll interest you to know that just an extra 40g or the equivalent of one.four oz. of fat daily can triple your risk of developing diabetes .A series of tests by Australia's University of Sydney has shown that insulin resistance increases with higher levels of fatty acids in our cells. Fat has always been a no-no, more so now that we know fat can impair how our bodies procedure insulin. Thankfully, the same research found that certain polyunsaturated fatty acids such as fish oils really increased insulin efficiency in our bodies.

Fish oil has long been hailed as a beneficial fat and is rather different from other animal fats. Fish oil is one of the omega-three polyunsaturated fatty acids which can aid improve overall heart wellbeing. Omega-3 may be useful in preventing atherosclerosis and reducing cholesterol levels. An added benefit would be to handle diabetes.

To see if there is any link between fat and insulin, Louisiana State University studied the eating habits of a group of 50 men and women who were not diabetic. About half of the test group was overweight and the remaining members weren ordinary weight. In each case, it was shown that whenever the subject consumed high levels of fat, insulin resistance as well increased.

By now, we've all heard the dire warnings about consuming too much saturated fat. We have seen frightening images and listened to news reports about the risks of a diet loaded with fat. It's not always clear what we should or shouldn't eat when it comes to handle diabetes, though taking steps to reduce saturated fats from our diets looks like a wise choice to make.



If you are at danger for diabetes, you'll wish to consider not eating red meat products at all. Not only are red meats high in bad fats, they are cholesterol laden also. Why burden yourself with food choices which will guide to being overweight and other problems resulting from poor well-being?

Every time we eat meat products we overload our systems with toxins. This forces our liver, kidneys, etc. to work troublesome to get rid of the toxins that sure meat products produce in our bodies. Even if we are healthy, our bodies have to manage a balance with processing food intake, so if we are at downside for diabetes, the burden is even greater.

If you are not able to avoid meat products, then a better choice to handle diabetes may be to select fish, eggs and poultry instead of high fat meats such as that located in red meats. If you gradually cut back your meat consumption and replace with other sources of healthy protein, you'll soon find you won't even miss it.
